ANTICIPATORY PROCESS - A pool of qualified persons resulting from this process WILL be created and MAY be used to fill similar positions with linguistic profiles (English essential, bilingual imperative BBB/BBB, bilingual imperative CBC/CBC) as well as tenures (indeterminate, deployment, acting, assignment, secondment, specified period) which may vary according to the position being staffed.

Your résumé.
You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Some essential and other qualifications will be assessed through your application. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification. Education:
-Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.
Experience:
-Recent* and significant** experience working in an Information Management and Information Technology (IM/IT) environment analyzing data requirements;
-Significant** experience in designing and developing conceptual, logical and physical (e.g. 3Normal Form) data models, such as the design and development of data models to create application database structures;
-Recent* and significant** experience in data architecture and modeling and data flow modeling;
-Recent* and significant** experience with MS SQL Server or oracle server coding (2008 and above);
-Recent* and significant** experience in data migration analysis;
-Experience with ERWIN or Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler or an equivalent tool.
Notes:
*Recent is defined as experience normally acquired within the last seven (7) years.
**Significant is defined as depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of those duties for a period of approximately five (5) years.

Knowledge:
-Knowledge of ISO data Standards related to data modeling;
-Knowledge of data architecture principles;
-Knowledge of MS SQL Server 2008 or above;
-Knowledge of SQL and procedural languages.

Competencies:
-Negotiation: Ability to promote data architecture principles while taking into considerations operational realities.
Asset Qualifications
Education:
-Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in information technology or a related field.
Certification:
-DAMA (Data Management) certification;
-TOGAF (The Open Group Architectural Framework) certification.
Experience:
-Experience in designing or exposure to master data management concepts;
-Experience in Extract, Transform & Load (ETL), data architecture analysis, ETL process modelling and ETL design;
-Experience with CA ErwinV7.3 or above.
Knowledge:
-Knowledge of the business process modeling.
Organizational Needs:
-Treasury Board Secretariat employees affected by workforce adjustment may be appointed before persons employed by other government organizations;

Operational Requirement:
-Willingness to work overtime on short notice.

An assignment, secondment, or acting appointment requires approval of your supervisor.
Indeterminate employees at the same group and level or equivalent will be considered for deployment. If no deployment is made, applicants from other groups and levels will be considered in the advertised appointment process.
