The intent of this process is to staff one IS-04 position on an indeterminate basis. The position has a linguistic requirement of CBB/PPB and a secret security clearance requirement.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions at the IS-04 group and level within Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or permanent), language requirements (bilingual imperative) and various profiles at the "B", "C", "P" level, security requirements (Secret clearance), various conditions of employment and for various locations.

A translation degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Extensive and recent experience* in editing communications products translated from English to French for a Minister, Deputy Minister or an equivalent position in the private sector (i.e., senior management).
* Extensive experience is defined by the experience acquired during at least 10 years of work over the last 15 years.
Experience in editing, translating and adapting documents for social media, including tweets, blogs, videos and infographics.
Experience in providing advice to clients and senior management on linguistic issues.
Experience in planning, managing and supervising communications projects or activities.
Bilingual - Imperative (CBB/PPB)
*Code P is necessary for reading and editing in French. The Second Language Evaluations required by the Public Service Commission are not used to evaluate the competencies requiring the use of code P. The hiring manager is responsible for the evaluation of code P.

Experience in thorough comparative editing of technical and scientific publications (translated from English to French) in fields related to energy, forestry, Earth sciences and metals and minerals.
Experience in proofreading or adaptation of parliamentary contents (texts, documents, speeches or reports) used by a Minister or Parliamentary Secretary in the House of Commons or in parliamentary committees.

Willing and able to work flexible hours (between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.).
Willing and able to work overtime, often on short notice, in evenings and/or on weekends.
Willing and able to be part of a roster for scheduled weekend standby/on-call duties (approximately one weekend per month).
