EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary education program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position being staffed.
EXPERIENCE:
Recent* experience in the troubleshooting, diagnosis and resolution of computer hardware and software problems in a networked Windows environment.
Recent* experience in providing information technology support to computer users.
Recent* experience in common desktop operating systems, Microsoft Office applications and email systems.
Recent* experience is defined as experience normally gained within the last three (3) years.
EDUCATION:
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
Certifications such as: Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), A+, Networking +, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or other certifications relevant to Information Technology.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in a provincial or federal correctional environment.
Experience in Active Directory account management.
Experience in managing IT assets.
Experience in providing IT training to computer users.
Experience in supporting Blackberries in an enterprise environment.
Experience in the analysis and evaluation of user requirements.
Experience in a help desk or call centre environment.
Experience in using a ticket tracking system such as Axios Assyst.

Knowledge of personal computer equipment and peripherals.
Knowledge of techniques, methods and practices in the installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of computers.

Knowledge of basic data networking and telecommunications concepts.

Ability to evaluate problems and situations related to a large computer environment and provide appropriate actions.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Willingness and ability to travel occasionally.
Willingness and ability to work unexpected overtime that may be required from time to time. This may include on-call, standby, call-back or after hours work.

Must possess and be able to retain a valid driver`s licence that conforms to provincial requirements.
