Intent of the process

This is an ANTICIPATORY process. The intent of this process is to create a pool of essentially or partially-qualified candidates which may be used to staff similar or equivalent positions of various tenures (indeterminate, term, acting, assignment, secondment) within Transport Canada, Quebec Region, Dorval Regional office.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION :
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or an acceptable combination of education, training or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE :
• Experience in analyzing complex situations * and making recommendations to clients or management.
• Recent and significant work experience ** in at least one of the following area :
- conducting investigations or investigative steps subject to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and/or legislation; OR
- as a peace officer; OR
- in a transportation regulatory environment; OR
- in the aeronautical industry.

* Complex questions are defined as situations or assignments in which the results or solutions are not clearly evident or may cause conflict.
** Recent and significant experience is considered two (2) years of experience within the last five (5) years.

• Knowledge of the structure of the Canadian Aviation Regulations.

EDUCATION - ASSET :
• Successfully completed post-secondary studies in aeronautics or a program related to aviation or the equivalent.

Degree equivalency

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION - ASSET :
• Hold or have held a Canadian aviation document, such as a pilot permit or license, or air traffic controller license.

EXPERIENCE - ASSET:
• Experience in the use of unmanned aircraft (drone, UAV, model aircraft).
• Experience in conducting investigations or investigative steps subject to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and/or legislation.
• Experience as a peace officer.
• Experience in managing an airport and related activities.
• Experience working in a transportation regulatory environment.
• Experience working in the aeronautical industry.
• Experience in writing investigative reports or judicial documents.
• Experience in conducting inspections or regulatory audits.

ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS :

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
• Able to travel by various modes and means of transport.
• Be willing to travel occasionally.
• Be willing to occasionally work overtime as needed.
