Work environment

Percy E. Moore Hospital serves the immediate area of Hodgson, Manitoba including the residents of Peguis, Fisher River and Kinonjeoshtegon First Nations as well as the Rural Municipality of Fisher. Hodgson is located in the Manitoba Interlake approximately 2 hours north of Winnipeg and is accessible by paved road.

Intent of the process

This selection process will initially be used to staff one (1) position on a full-time, permanent basis. The result of this selection process will be to create a pool of qualified candidates from which future permanent and/or temporary vacancies may be filled.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Successful completion of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Recent* experience providing services in three of the following areas: administrative support, communications, human resources, medical records, purchasing, reception or travel
* Recent is defined as within the last three (3) years

Experience handling inquiries, researching information and resolving problems
Experience using word processing software to prepare letters or reports
Experience inputting data into a computerized system
Experience using email

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Experience dealing with First Nations communities, organizations or people
Experience working in a hospital or personal care home setting
Experience providing reception services or using a switchboard

The primary assessment location will be in Hodgson, MB. Candidates from outside the federal public service who are invited to written exams and/or interviews will be responsible for travel and accommodation expenses.

A candidate may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications or organizational needs. However, meeting one or more of these criteria is desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.
