Statistics Canada is currently looking for Executive Assistants for its Directors and Directors General!
Working as an Executive Assistant at Statistics Canada means that you will be providing executive support and office management services for one or more Divisional Directors or Branch Directors General and other senior divisional staff. In the end, doing what really matters!
Here's a little bit of what you would do...
- Coordinate travel arrangements for senior management;
- Effectively manage the office of an executive;
- Coordinate and execute a variety of administrative services;
- Act as a translation coordinator; handle short translations and verify translation for correct use of terminology and spelling;
- Plan and coordinate special projects, events and meetings;
- Respond to inquiries of our department, of other government departments, of internal organizations, of Members of Parliament, of private industry and many more!

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
AS-01
Successful completion of one (1) year of a postsecondary program in Office Administration or in a field related to the tasks of the position.
OR
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternative PLUS the following three (3) experience:
• EX1- Experience in providing service to clients by telephone, in person or in writing.
• EX2- Experience in using a spreadsheet software, an electronic mail system and a word processing software.
• EX3- Experience in providing administrative services such as but not limited to photocopying, filing, office organization, scheduling meetings, writing minutes or correspondence, ordering supplies, distributing mail or coordinating activities.
AS-02
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternative PLUS the following three (3) experience:
• EX1- Significant* experience in providing administrative support to an Executive.
• EX2- Experience managing an Executive's electronic agenda and making logistical arrangements for meetings.
• EX3- Experience recording and transcribing minutes of meetings and following up on decisions.
*Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with performance of duties for six (6) months. The six (6) months do not have to be concurrent.

ASSET - EDUCATION
Graduation with a diploma or a certification in Office Administration from a recognized post-secondary institution (Diploma earned by June 30, 2018).
Other education levels may be used as needs arise.

Experience working at Statistics Canada.
Other experience criteria will be used throughout the process.
