ANTICIPATORY
The intent of this process is to create a pool of qualified candidates to staff future vacancies with similar indeterminate or specified period positions, with similar linguistic and security requirements at AAFC for the location indicated for this process.
In the event that an employee of the public service is qualified through this process, and there is a temporary need, he/she may be considered for acting or assignment/secondment opportunities.

EDUCATION
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
NOTE: Based on their education, training and/or experience, indeterminate incumbents of positions in the IS classification are deemed to meet the minimum education standard whenever a bachelor’s degree without specialization is called for in a position classified as IS.

EXPERIENCE
•Significant* experience in providing strategic communications advice to clients, managers and senior executives.
•Recent** experience in the development of various communications products, such as, but not limited to: speeches and/or talking points, media lines, news releases, publications, and/or marketing materials.
•Recent** experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating communications strategies, files and/or projects.
•Experience in briefing senior executives on ***complex issues, files or projects.
* “Significant experience” is understood to mean the depth and breadth of the experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of various complex**** related activities which are normally acquired over a period of at least 2 years.)
** “Recent experience” is defined as having acquired this experience within the three (3) years immediately preceding the application for this process.
*** Complex issues, files, projects or initiatives include characteristics such as the following: multidimensional, sensitive, confidential, impacting several partners or stakeholders or that could yield potential for significant media or employee interest.

EDUCATION
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, or political science.
EXPERIENCE
•Experience in administering professional service contracts.
•Experience managing a communications project or initiative on digital platforms to interact with key audiences.
•Experience in managing communications around complex, high profile or sensitive issues, policies or programs.
•Experience in supervising staff or leading a project team.
•Experience in media relations.
•Experience in developing marketing plans and leading the implementation of complex and high profile national advertising campaigns.
