ABOUT HEALTH CANADA
Health Canada is the Federal department responsible for helping Canadians maintain and improve their health, while respecting individual choices and circumstances.
This is an anticipatory process.
The intent is to staff anticipatory targeted vacant positions via the Aboriginal Peoples Employment Program (APEP), which aims to strategically increase Aboriginal representation within Health Canada, First Nations and Inuit Health Branch. As such, Organizational Needs may be applied and first consideration may be given to candidates self-identifying as belonging to Aboriginal peoples.

Diploma of Dental Therapy from a recognized training school.
Current registration to practice dental therapy in the province or territory of employment and is a member of good standing in that province/territory, and willingness and eligibility to become registered and licensed, at the time of appointment, in Saskatchewan with the Saskatchewan Dental Therapists Association.
Significant* experience working as a Dental Therapist.
Experience working effectively with First Nations, Inuit, or Métis.
*Significant experience is defined as approximately three (3) years of full-time employment in the applicable field of work.

ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS:

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Willingness to travel and to be away from home for extended periods (travel could be to remote areas).
Willingness and ability to work irregular hours and overtime
Reliability Status security clearance
Valid driver’s license
Ability to travel to remote communities by automobile or small aircraft
Maintaining registration and licensure with the Saskatchewan Dental Therapists Association
Note: Candidates must meet and maintain the above conditions of employment throughout their employment.
Candidates must ensure that they are available for any testing or interviews required.
