Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis, with a linguistic profile of Bilingual Imperative CCC/CCC and an RCMP Enhanced Reliability security clearance.

A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Notification regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Should a Public Service (PS) employee be found qualified and selected for appointment, notification regarding the PS appointment will be posted accordingly on www.jobs.gc.ca.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, aeronautical engineering, geological engineering, naval architecture or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
Experience in radio and wireless communications as applied to mobile voice and data communication systems

Experience in providing administrative and technical support for the planning and execution of projects

Experience in participating in the development and implementation of engineering projects

Experience in researching and understanding communication protocols

Experience in data gathering and data analysis to assist in the resolution of engineering problems or evaluation of solutions

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in land mobile radio or cellular communications systems design or implementation.
Experience in the preparation and review of project documents such as technical reports, technical specifications or statements of work.
Knowledge of the practices related to technical project management, such as; PMBoK or Prince2.
Knowledge on the use of Radio Frequency prediction software tools.
