Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff indeterminate positions with a linguistic profile BBB/BBB. A pool will be used to staff similar positions with different tenure or language profiles within Global Affairs Canada.

We may appoint candidates by applying one or more of the following criteria:
• Breadth, depth, type of specific work experience
• Matching individual experience or qualifications to the strengths and/or weaknesses of the work team
• Matching individual experience or qualifications to the specific duties of the position being staffed

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
Successful completion of two (2) years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
E1: Experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting IM/IT hardware and software.

E2: Experience in providing front-line client support related to IM/IT infrastructure.

K1: Knowledge of IM/IT support practices.

Abilities:
A1: Ability to plan, prioritize and apply practical solutions to technical problems.
A2: Ability to communicate effectively orally.

A4: Ability to carry physical aspects of the work such as the capacity to lift 55lbs, climb ladders and other related physical aspects of the work.

Conditions of employment

Secret security clearance - Security Level: Secret. Must be able to obtain a Top secret clearance for assignments abroad.

Other conditions of employment:
Rotationality is a condition of employment. Rotationality is the requirement for an employee to serve at any location in Canada or abroad, as determined by the Department.

Must not be colour blind.

5- Candidates must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to a position.

6- PLEASE NOTE: THE CUT-OFF SCORE FOR ANY ONLINE TOOLS WILL BE ESTABLISHED BY THE DEPARTMENT AND MAY BE USED IN PRE-SELECTION AND/OR ASSESSMENT.

7- Official language will be assessed through administration of the Second Language Evaluations.

8- To facilitate the administrative process, if applicable, please indicate the following information if you are already a Public Servant (Federal Government Employee) : your personal record identifier (PRI), your employment status (Indeterminate, Term, Casual, Student, etc), your SUBSTANTIVE group and level, your language results and security clearance.

9- For this selection process, we find that email is the most efficient way to communicate with you. If you cannot receive results by email, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to inform us.
