EDUCATION:

ED1: A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

EX1: Experience interpreting and applying acts and regulations.
EX2: Experience in conducting scientific or technical research, carrying out analysis and making recommendations.
EX3: Experience in using Microsoft Office; specifically Excel and Word.
EX4: Experience in planning and/or conducting inspections or compliance reviews.

AEX3: Experience in emergency response contingency planning.
AEX4: Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.

K1: Knowledge of the Canada Shipping Act 2001 and the application and governance of Canada’s marine oil spill prevention, preparedness and response regime.
K2: Knowledge of mandate and objectives of Transport Canada’s Marine Safety and Security Directorate related to Environmental Response.
K3: Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of organizations involved in marine spill preparedness and response activities and their interactions.

ABILITIES:

A1: Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
A2: Ability to communicate effectively orally.
A3: Ability to analyze information and provide effective advice.
A4: Ability to interpret, apply and explain legislation.

Conditions of employment

- Reliability Status or Secret security clearance (depending on the position being staffed)

Other information
