This inventory will be used to staff a variety of IT positions at Public Safety Canada. Positions may have various language or security requirements.
If your application is screened in, you will be invited to demonstrate your behavioral and technical competencies through an evaluation process. The assessment board will inform you prior to the assessment on which competencies you will be assessed.
The required competencies may vary according to the position being staffed.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Some essential and other qualifications will be assessed through your application. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification. Failing to do so could result in your application being rejected.
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
You will be required to provide proof of your education credentials at the time of assessment.

The language requirements will vary according to the position to be staffed:
Bilingual Imperative (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC), English or French Essential or English essential

Depending on the position, operational requirements may also apply such as :
- Ability and willingness to occasionally work overtime on short notice as required
- Ability and willingness to travel as required
- Ability to work during operational hours of the IT Service Desk (Between 7:00AM and 5:30PM EST)
- Willingness and ability to work shift-work
- Willingness and ability to work 24/7 on-call status
Security clearance: Secret or Top Secret
Random selection may be used when selecting candidates for further assessment.
A self-assessment questionnaire may be used to evaluate behavioral and technical competencies.
