Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is the centre of action for government research and policy regarding energy, mining, forestry and earth sciences. It has an exciting mandate that is central to Government of Canada priorities. Our organization is dynamic, creative and resourceful.
The initial intent of this process is to offer one indeterminate opportunity.
A pool of qualified persons resulting from this process MAY be created and MAY be used to fill similar positions at Natural Resources Canada and Correctional Service Canada.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
A valid Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or a professional internal audit designation (CIA or CGAP).
EXPERIENCE
Recent* experience in the coordination of the assessment, monitoring and reporting, to the Chief Audit Executive and Departmental Audit Committee, on the Department's implementation of audit recommendations and in the improvement of internal audit processes.
Recent* experience in developing collaborative relationships with senior officials of the Office of the Comptroller General, Office of the Auditor General, and other government departments.
Experience in providing strategic advice, making recommendations, writing and presenting briefing material to senior management on complex issues.
Experience in managing financial and human resources.
Experience in developing risk based audit plans.
* Recent is defined as experience acquired within the last THREE years.
Willingness and ability to travel.
Bilingual - Imperative (CBC/CBC)

EXPERIENCE
Experience within the last five years leading audit or advisory projects.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of TeamMate (Internal Audit Management Software)
