The immediate need is to staff 1 indeterminate position in Whitehorse, YT. A pool of qualified candidates may be created and may be used to staff similar positions within Environment and Climate Change Canada, with various tenures, language requirements and profiles, and conditions of employment.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma and completion of an acceptable training program in a technical field related to building operations (i.e. plumber, electrician, building operator, stationary engineer, etc.)
EXPERIENCE
Significant experience in providing property management services including site management, operations and maintenance of specialized properties and of facility specific electrical, mechanical and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems and equipment. Significant experience is deemed to be a minimum of 5 years.
Experience in developing and operating a building preventative maintenance program.
Experience in developing operations and maintenance standards for consideration by the department.
Experience in providing advice and guidance to management and staff on facility operations and maintenance programs.
Experience in the supervision of contractors.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in electrical or mechanical system installations, trouble shooting and maintenance.
Knowledge of the Canada Labour Code Part II and how it applies to facility management in the Federal Public Service.
Knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada 2015.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Occasional travel within Canada
Reliability Status security clearance
Must be able to work overtime on short notice.
A written examination may be administered.
An interview may be administered.
