We are looking for a highly motivated, hardworking and tech savvy candidate to join our Western Economic Diversification Canada team as a Communications Officer (IS-03). The ideal candidate will have strong research, writing and project-event management skills. Strategic thinking, attention to detail, initiative, and creative thinking skills will raise you to the top of our candidate list.

Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in Communications or other field related to the position.

Note: At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, may serve as an alternative to the minimum education standard.

Degree equivalency

Experience in researching and writing a variety of communications products (such as, but not limited to, news releases, media lines, backgrounders, feature articles, as well as material for the Web and/or social media) in a deadline driven environment;

Experience in coordinating communications projects or public events.

Experience building and maintaining relationships with external partners and stakeholders.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Experience developing and implementing social media strategies.

Depth, breadth and scope of experience in any one or combination of the experience qualifications used for screening.
