Intent of the process

There is an immediate need to staff two (2) indeterminate position in Petawawa,Ontario. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions, with varying tentures.

Education:
Completion of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Occupational Certification:
For the MAM 09/HP03 Stream:
OC1-Possession of a Ontario MOE Class 2 Water Distribution and Supply certificate
AND
OC2-Possession of a valid TSSA Petroleum Mechanic 2 (PM2) certification or a valid TSSA Petroleum Mechanic 3 (PM3) certification.

For the MAM 00 Stream:
OC3 – Possession of a CAF WFE Tech QLF5 qualification or higher
OR
OC4 – Possession of an Ontario MOE Class 1 Water Distribution and Supply certificate or equivalent certification as acquired through a Canadian provincial/territorial regulatory body.

Experience (for the MAM 09/HP 03 Stream ONLY):
EX1-Experience operating and maintaining water distribution systems.
EX2-Experience operating and maintaining fuel systems.

Abilities:
A1-Ability to communicate orally.
A2- Ability to communicate in writing.

Personal Suitability:
PS1-Effective interpersonal relationships
PS2- Dependability
PS3- Initiative
PS4- Judgement

Asset Qualifications:
AQ1-Experience working with Aviation Fuel systems.
AQ2-Experience working with Federal Storage Tank regulations.
AQ3-Experience operating and maintaining waste water collection systems.
AQ4-Experience operating and maintaining fuel systems.
AQ5-Experience in the handling of Chemicals and HAZMAT.
AQ6-Successful completion of spill response training.
AQ7-Possession of a Ontario MOE Class 2 Waste Water Collection certificate.
AQ8-Possession of a Level 1 Pool Operator Certificate.
AQ9-Possession of one or more of the following certifications:
• First Aid
• CPR
• WHMIS
• Aerial Lift equipment
• Confined Space Entry

Information on employment equity

Operational Requirements:
-Ability to obtain and maintain a DND driver’s license (DND 404).
-Willingness to work overtime including weekends.
-Willingness to be on a call-in list and asked to respond after hours within one hour of being called in.
-Willingness to wear personal protective equipment used in a construction/maintenance environment.
-Work may include but not limited to standing, climbing, walking, lifting, bending, pulling and/or pushing, grasping, reaching, stooping, and crouching, sitting, color determination, speaking and listening, and working in hot and cold environments for extended periods of time.
-Willingness and able to lift and carry heavy equipment in small, cramped locations

-Valid class “G” driver’s license issued by the Province of Ontario or other provincial/territorial equivalent.

10. Pay Rates:
GL MAM 00 - Apprentice position (Petawawa and Kingston): $15.14 - $27.85 per hour
GL MAM 09 - Technician position (Petawawa and Kingston): $27.85 - $30.28 per hour
HP 01 - Apprentice position (Trenton and Borden): $25.07 - $26.15 per hour
HP 03 - Technician position (Trenton and Borden): $29.84 - $31.34 per hour
