Who are we?
With 5000 employees and an annual budget of about $2.5 billion, ISED is leading Canada’s Innovation and Skills Plan.
We facilitate growth and innovation by regulating in areas like intellectual property, privacy and telecommunications spectrum; fund research and development across the economy in sectors like automotive, aerospace, space, digital, data and clean technology; and support science research to ensure Canada is always on a path to discovery.

EDUCATION:
Graduation with degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
EXPERIENCE:
- Significant* experience analyzing data or investigating legal, financial or business information and formulating recommendations.
* Significant is understood to mean the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a range of relevant duties over a period of 18 consecutive months.
- Experience in managing projects, programs or cases.
- Experience providing written and oral briefings to management including analysis, advise and recommendations. .
- Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with government, industry stakeholders or other clients.

Experience in managing and monitoring contribution agreements or major financial contracts.
Experience working in multidisciplinary project teams.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with a specialization in a field related to the duties of the position (such as: Accounting, Business Administration, Law, Public Administration, Social Services, Commerce, Economics or Finance).
CERTIFICATION:
Recognized professional accounting designations such as Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in the development of internal or administrative policies, procedures, guidelines or strategies in relation to transfer payments programs.
Experience in providing financial analysis or services, guidance and advice to various levels of staff, senior management and clients.
Experience undertaking research and analysis autonomously.
Experience in supervising staff.
Experience in work-related court proceedings.
Experience in facilitation, mediation or negotiation.
Experience in creating and delivering presentations to a group of professionals.
Experience working in a regulatory environment.
Experience in planning and managing the conduct of consultations with external clients.

Depending on the position to staff, operational requirements could apply such as:
- Willingness and ability to work overtime on short notice
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally
- Willingness and ability to work between the hours of 8am and 5:30pm
