Intent of the process

This inventory is for casual employment which is a temporary employment of 90 working days or less, in a calendar year, to meet needs from such contingencies as vacations, sick and training leaves, to conduct special projects that are anticipated but dependent of the availability of funds.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:

• Valid Class 1E driver’s licence issued by the Province of New Brunswick or the equivalent in another province.

EXPERIENCE:

For GL-MDO-05 only:

• Experience in operating a tractor trailer.
• Experience in operating a highway passenger bus or school bus.

For GL-MDO-06 only:

• Experience in operating a dump truck.
• Experience in operating a front-end loader.
• Experience in operating a grader.
• Experience in operating snow removal equipment.

*Note: Practical testing may be conducted to validate experience requirements.

The following may be applied / assessed at a later date (may be needed for the job)

EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in operating a backhoe.
• Experience in operating a bulldozer.
• Experience in operating an excavator.
• Experience in snow and ice removal.
• Experience in operating a refueling tender.
• Experience in operating material handling equipment (forklift).
• Experience in operating a dump truck.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

• Possession of a valid Class 1E driver’s licence issued by the Province of New Brunswick or the equivalent in another province.
• Provincial Air Brake certification.
• Must be able to obtain and retain a DND 404 to include Air Brake Endorsement.
• Must provide a valid driver’s medical.
• Must provide a driver’s abstract.
• Must wear CSA approved safety footwear and other personal protective equipment.
• Must be able to work shift work as required.
• Must be able to work overtime as required.
• Must be able to work on callbacks.
• Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
