Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in a primary human science (e.g. psychology, sociology, kinesiology, etc.), engineering, computer science or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed.
Experiences:
-Recent* experience in the operation, configuration, calibration, and maintenance of technical equipment to support human research
-Recent* experience planning or conducting human research
-Recent* experience analyzing data from human experiments
-Experience using databases and statistical packages
*Recent means in the last 36 months
Knowledge:
-Knowledge of human research ethics
-Basic knowledge of computer systems and networks
Abilities:
-Ability to use Microsoft Office
-Ability to develop and implement solutions to scientific or technical problems or make recommendations.
-Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Personal Suitabilities:

Operational Needs:
-Ability to travel to various locations within and outside of Canada
-Willingness and ability to spend significant time (up to six weeks at a time) in the field in support of field trials

Education:
-Formal studies in cognitive, social, industrial/organizational or engineering psychology, human factors or ergonomics, neuroscience, training or education
-Formal studies in research methods and statistics for human research
-Formal studies in computer programming
Experiences:
-Experience working for the Department of National Defence or the Canadian Armed Forces.
-Experience conducting human experiments in a field trial setting
-Experience using mathematical software (e.g., MATLAB, LabView)
-Experience developing software tools (e.g., algorithms, scripts, user interfaces) to support experimentation or data analysis
-Experience in developing data analysis strategies, methods, or tools
-Experience in the development, installation, maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware or software on computer based systems in an office or lab environment
-Experience in operating a wide range of equipment and safety practices associated with their use
-Experience in designing, developing, or testing technologies or training for human use
-Experience in designing, developing, or testing software, hardware, or equipment to conduct human experiments
-Experience in writing scientific or technical reports
-Experience in writing training materials or other user documentation
Knowledge:
-Knowledge of principles of Neuroimaging (FMRI, PET, Psycho-physiological measurement) and associated data collection and analysis
-Knowledge of modelling and simulation (e.g., human behavior/performance models, cognitive models, system models)
Abilities:
-Ability to organize, collate, and manipulate data in preparation for analyses
-Ability to manipulate and transform data using a programming language (MS Office’s VBA, python, MATLAB, etc..)
