This position reports to the Facility Manager and is part of a facility team. You will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of a Power Plant and auxiliary equipment associated with Heating and Ventilation systems. As the responsible engineer, you will control the operation, running, maintenance and monitoring of a physical plant providing a number of services, as well as perform preventative maintenance (PM) duties according to prescribed schedule. You will report on, and make recommendations related to, operations and maintenance requirements and monitor the work of contractors.

The Lacombe Research Centre in Alberta is one of 20 research facilities across Canada. It is responsible for conducting various agricultural research studies for the Government of Canada. This position will support the delivery of these studies by ensuring that the facilities are maintained in accordance with established standards and by meeting the requirements of the research programs at the Lacombe Research Centre.
Immediate need: To staff an indeterminate position for the location indicated for this process.
Anticipatory: A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions on a permanent full-time or part-time basis for the location indicated for this process.

Certification as a Fourth Class Power Engineer.
Experience in the operation and maintenance of steam and hot water boilers and auxiliary equipment, refrigeration equipment and HVAC equipment.
