You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Graduation with a degree in forestry or wood science from a recognized post-secondary institution; or
Graduation with a degree in a related science from a recognized post-secondary institution combined with acceptable experience.
Experience in negotiating, implementing and/or managing partnership programs with government and/or non-governmental organizations.
Experience in providing science/policy analyses and advice to senior officials.
Experience in planning, developing and leading projects or programs to support science/policy activities.
Experience in managing human and financial resources.
Bilingual - Imperative (CBC/CBC)
Information on language requirements
Knowledge of policies governing Natural Resources Canada science and technology activities.
Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of the various levels of government, and the interest of Indigenous organizations and industry, in the forest sector in Canada.
Knowledge of the mandate of the Canadian Forest Service and its strategic objectives.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various levels of government, Indigenous organizations, or other stakeholders.
Ability to research and develop in-depth understanding of complex science/policy issues in resource management.

Graduation with a Masters or PhD from a recognized post-secondary institution in a relevant field of study combined with experience.
Experience in consultations, negotiations and partnership development with Indigenous organizations.
