Education
ED1: Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience

Degree equivalency

Occupational Certification:

OC1: Possession of a medically valid Canadian Airline Transport Pilot License – Aeroplane Category with a valid Group I Instrument Rating AND possession of a valid Restricted Radio-Telephone Operator Certificate (endorsed Aeronautical);
OR
OC2: Possession of a medically valid Canadian Commercial Pilot License – Helicopter Category with a valid Group IV Instrument Rating AND possession of a valid Restricted Radio-Telephone Operator Certificate (endorsed Aeronautical).

Experience
EX1: Experience in analyzing complex situations and making recommendations.

EX2: Total of 2,500 hours of flight time, which includes 1,000 hours as pilot-in-command of which 500 hours is in either multiple engine aeroplanes, turbine powered aeroplanes, OR Transport Category helicopters.

EX3: Experience working in aircraft using advanced technology.

EX4: Experience working in an SMS environment or the military equivalent.

EX5: Experience working with risk management concepts and principles.
