The Parole Board of Canada (PBC) contributes to public safety with its core responsibility for the controlled, timed and gradual release of offenders back into society. The skills and talents of our staff are central to this work.

The Prairie Region covers a vast area comprised of Alberta, the North West Territories, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and north western Ontario to Thunder Bay. There are two regional offices located in Saskatoon and Edmonton. The region employs 73 staff who support up to 22 Board Members. These Members conduct reviews on offenders residing in 12 federal institutions (10 for men and two for women) and within the community across the region. The Region also has the same jurisdiction over provincial offenders who apply for parole, as no provincial parole boards have been established within the region.
The immediate need is to staff one (1) full-time indeterminate position.

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field relevant to the position.
EXPERIENCES:
• Recent* and significant** experience in managing human and financial resources;
• Recent* and significant** experience in the planning, implementation and management of operational strategies and policies;
• Significant** experience in providing expert advice, guidance and briefings to senior officials on sensitive and complex issues (such as the operational impact of a legislative or policy change);
• Recent* and significant** experience in building partnerships with internal (Federal Public Service) or external stakeholders;
• Experience in managing or implementing organizational change (such as: structural changes or redistribution of responsibilities or implementing legislative amendments).
*Recent experience signifies within the last 3 to 4 years. **Significant experience refers to the breadth and depth of experience and is defined as a combination of time spent doing the activity, as well as type (range, scope, and complexity) of work handled related to the experience criteria. Clear and specific examples should be provided by candidates in their application.
