Intent of the process

The current need is to staff one (1) position on an indeterminate basis. A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established to staff positions within Health Canada with various language requirements and/or various linguistic profiles (see "Official Language Proficiency" section). Tenures may vary according to the positions being staffed.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in nursing from a recognized university

Evaluation of education (certificates/diplomas/degrees) obtained outside Canada must be obtained from a recognized credential assessment service. Degree equivalency

Occupational Certification:
Current registration as a registered nurse in a province or territory of Canada, with eligibility for registration in Manitoba.

Extensive* and diversified** nursing experience?
Extensive* is defined as at least 5 years and diversified** is defined as experience in 2 or more practice settings or areas of nursing practice.

Experience in the development and provision of adult education.

Experience in health promotion program development and management.

Experience facilitating groups.

Experience mentoring nurses or providing nurse peer support.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Completion of International Critical Incident Stress Foundation courses: Group Crisis Intervention and Individual Crisis Intervention & Peer Support (previously known as Basic Critical Incident Stress Management and Advanced Critical Incident Stress Management).

Degree equivalency

Knowledge and experience working in psychotraumatology.

Experience in nursing practice with First Nations communities.

Experience facilitating safety and resiliency promotion training for nurses.

Certification to deliver Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training.

The following will be applied / assessed at a later date (essential for the job)
