This process will initially be used to staff one position in Halifax (Nova Scotia) on an indeterminate basis. A qualified pool of candidates may be established. This pool of qualified candidates may be used to staff similar positions with similar requirements.
The intent is to staff this position via the Aboriginal Peoples Employment Program, which aims to strategically increase Aboriginal representation within the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch. As such, Organizational Needs may be applied and first consideration may be given to candidates self-identifying as belonging to Aboriginal peoples.

• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in nursing, nursing service administration, nursing education or some other specialty relevant to the position.
• Current registration as a registered nurse in a province or territory in Canada.
• Experience in home care nursing and community health program development.
• Experience working with diverse cultures.
• Experience in working on an inter-professional team.
• Graduation with an advanced degree (Masters, Doctorate) from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in nursing, nursing service administration, nursing education or some other specialty relevant to the position.
• Certification in Community Health Nursing.
• Experience working in First Nation Communities.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license or personal mobility to a degree normally associated with the possession of a driver’s license.
