Screening questions have been built into the application process. Answers provided to the screening questions will be used to assess both education and experience. Administrative Assistants/Clerks with the Department of National Defence perform a variety of duties which may include: reception; records management; data entry and retrieval; document creation, processing and/or tracking; coordinating and/or supporting meetings or events; and use and maintenance of office equipment and supplies. This work may be performed within a range of organizations/work environments such as office, warehouse or maintenance facility work settings. The work may require lifting and carrying of heavy items or boxes and/or reaching for folders or items from a range of high to low shelving/storage areas.
The intent of this process is to create a pool of candidates to staff immediate vacancies and future opportunities.
The pool of candidates may be used to staff similar positions (including lower level positions) on an indeterminate or term basis, including casual employment and with various security requirements.
