ANTICIPATORY
A pool of qualified candidates will be established to staff similar positions within the Privy Council Office with various tenures (acting, specified period or indeterminate positions) and/or various language requirements.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION :

Graduation with a degree in a field relevant to the position.

OR

A secondary school diploma with a combination of training and/or experience within the security domain.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

EX1 : Experience in providing services to clients, requiring explanation or clarification on a given subject.

EX2 : Recent* experience in the field of pre-employment screening or background checks in the federal or provincial government or in the private sector.

EX3 : Experience conducting research including the analysis and synthesis of information from various sources, documenting key findings and making recommendations in written material such as briefings, reports or presentations.

EX4 : Experience implementing procedures and/or processes.

EX5 : Experience using MS Office Suite (or equivalent).

*Recent means the individual conducted the duties in the last 5 years.

KNOWLEDGE:

K1 : Knowledge of the Policy on Government Security, the Directive on Departmental Security Management and the Security Screening Standard.

K2 : Knowledge of the Privy Council Office including its purpose and main roles, and knowledge of the role of the Clerk of the Privy Council.

ABILITIES:

A1 : Ability to communicate effectively orally.

A2 : Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

A3 : Ability to work effectively under pressure.

A4 : Ability to organize work priorities and meet deadlines.

A5 : Ability to analyse complex issues and synthesize the information and make recommendations.

ASSET EXPERIENCE :

AEX1 : Experience in the field of Personnel Security Screening in the federal government.

AEX2 : Experience in security operations in government, policing, corrections services, defense, intelligence, fire department, Emergency Medical Services and/or private security organizations.

AEX3 : Experience conducting interviews.

AEX4 : Experience in the preparation and drafting of written material such as reports or information notes that contain an assessment of risk.

Conditions of employment

Top Secret security clearance

Ability to travel occasionally domestically and internationally.

Ability to do overtime without notice.

A written examination may be administered.

Candidates must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to a position.
