Duties

As project management analyst in the Project Management Office at the Public Service Commission, you will play a key role by participating in project team, liaise and collaborate with stakeholders (clients, technical teams). Your activities will include but is not limited to:

Proactively tracking projects timelines and milestones; monitoring and summarizing the progress of projects

Acting as a liaison between clients, technical and testing teams to ensure that the detailed business and IT requirements are clearly understood

Developing, planning and conducting analysis activities as part of overall IT project plans which includes, but is not limited to, timely communication of issues and risks, and contributing to work and communication plans

Developing and preparing reports for upper management regarding presentation materials (decks and memos, project status) and ensuring project documents are completed, current, and stored appropriately

Helping manage processes through strong collaboration with stakeholders and partners and contribute to the continuous improvement of the IT project management framework

Developing training materials and provide training and technical information to new staff

Maintaining knowledge of trends and developments related to the applicable IT BLS discipline

Work environment

Bachelor degree from a recognized post-secondary educational program, with a specialization in computer science or a similar technical field of study.

EXPERIENCE

E1: Experience contributing to the creation and/or maintenance of an IT project plan integrating activities from multiple IT functions and units, including but not limited to: “Business Analysts, Developers, and Database administrators, Quality Assurance, Infrastructure, Help Desk and Support”

E2: Experience facilitating or leading consultations with clients and stakeholders.

KNOWLEDGE

K1: Knowledge of industry or government of Canada standards and best practices with respect to IM/IT project management, including the Treasury Board Guide to Gating IT-Projects.

K2: Knowledge of the Systems Development Life-Cycle (SDLC)

ABILITIES

A1: Ability to review, analyze and synthesize information from numerous sources into formal project documentation

A2: Ability to communicate effectively orally

A3: Ability to communicate effectively in writing
