PKI Gurus Wanted!

For the last 15 years, the Internal Credential Management (ICM) team has been providing an enterprise-level service to over 120 federal institutions. This critical service allows over 350,000 public servants to leverage Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) technologies for the purpose of strong authentication and the secure exchange of corporate sensitive information.

Shared Services Canada (SSC) is looking for a few PKI Gurus to help manage the entire encryption infrastructure from the storage right up to the servers and everything in between for over 500,000 digital certificates.

Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates will be established and will be used to staff similar positions within Shared Services Canada. All federal organizations may use this staffing process to appoint a candidate to its organization in a similar position.

EDUCATION

Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Notes:

1.Indeterminate period incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CS group.

2.It is the recognized educational institution (e.g. community college, CÉGEP or university) that determines if the courses taken by a candidate correspond to two years of a post-secondary program at the institution.

3.At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

1. Significant* experience configuring, implementing and administering PKI IT infrastructure, including but not limited to, the Certificate Authority (CA) in a corporate environment.

2. Recent** experience working with Windows server operating systems, such as Windows 2008/2012 Server.

3. Recent** experience monitoring the health and performance of a PKI IT environment and actively participating on the resolution of operational incidents.

4. Recent** experience creating and documenting operational procedures and processes.

Definitions:
*Significant is described as three (3) years experience within the last ten (10) years.
**Recent means the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of complex related activities within the last five (5) years.
