Duties

The Senior Pay and Integrity Officer is responsible for resolving pay issues at varying levels of complexity, as brought to their attention by various sources, including the compensation community and quality assurance processes. The work requires knowledge of the pay system, of legislative and policy limitations, as well as strong analytical skills to identify how best to address the employees’ pay file issues.

Work environment

The directorate is composed of seven main areas; Compensation Processing including Data Processing and Records Management; Payroll and Remittance Services, Consolidated Systems Control (including RCMP); Regional Compensation, Matane, and Regional Compensation, Edmonton.

Intent of the process

The intent of this appointment process is to staff twenty (20) positions for two years specified period at English essential or Bilingual imperative BBB/BBB level. However, a pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions (such as Indeterminate, Assignments, Secondments, Specific Periods and Acting Assignments with various languages profiles), within Public Services and Procurement Canada.

EDUCATION:

EXPERIENCE:

EX1: Minimum one year experience working in a compensation (pay, pension, or insurance) environment
EX2: Proficiency using office productivity software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, word processing, etc.)

KNOWLEDGE:

K1: Knowledge of compensation activities
K2: Knowledge of year end (tax slips) activities
K3: Knowledge of the Directive on Union Dues

ABILITIES:

A1: Ability to independently analyze and resolve complex problems
A2: Ability to communicate effectively (written, oral)
