Duties

Revises translations of Court decisions in French or English for Courts Administration Service.

Intent of the process

A pool of prequalified or fully qualified candidates may be created to staff similar or identical positions with various tenure, various bilingual linguistic profiles and security requirements within the Courts Administration Service.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a degree in translation from a recognized university.

Degree equivalency

Recent experience* in translating, revising and editing texts of administrative, legal, and quasi-legal nature in French or English.

Recent experience* in working with automated translation tools.
* “Recent experience” means in the last ten (10) years.

Experience in using a personal computer and software such as Microsoft Word to complete the revision of translated documents.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

University of Ottawa’s Maîtrise en traduction juridique or Diplôme d’études supérieures en traduction juridique.

Acceptable combination** of education, training and experience in law.

**”Acceptable combination” of education, training and experience in law is defined as a two-year diploma and/or certificate in legal studies.
