This process is designed to fill one English essential position in Halifax (Nova Scotia) on an indeterminate basis. A pool of candidates may be established to staff positions of various tenures with various language requirements.
The intent is to staff this position via the Aboriginal Peoples Employment Program, which aims to strategically increase Aboriginal representation within the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch. As such, Organizational Needs may be applied and first consideration may be given to candidates self-identifying as belonging to Aboriginal peoples.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. • Graduation with a relevant degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics *. AND
• Graduation with an advanced degree (Master’s or Phd) from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in a health related field.
* Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Experience in working as a clinician in a related health discipline for a period greater than two years.
• Experience in developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.
• Experience in providing leadership to program(s).
• Experience in briefing various groups, including senior management.
• Experience working effectively with First Nations, Inuit, or Métis.

Reliability Status security clearance
• Possession of a valid driver’s license or personal mobility to a degree normally associated with the possession of a driver’s license.
• Willing and able to travel; this could include travel to remote locations and by small boats or small aircraft.
• Willing and able to work overtime with short notice.
