You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. ED1. Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics and a specialization in epidemiology, public health or other acceptable health-related field.
Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
E1. Significant* experience in the analysis of health data.
E2. Significant* experience working with large** data sets
E3. Experience in designing or evaluating epidemiological studies.
E4. Experience in preparing presentation materials, briefing notes or other communication products.
* Significant is defined as two or more years experience.
** Large will be assessed in function of size and complexity from the aspect of number of records, number of databases merged, number of variables and their types.
AED1: Graduate degree from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in epidemiology, public health, bio-statistics, health administration, or other acceptable health-related field.
AE1. Experience using SAS, and/or SPSS software.
