Intent of the process

To staff 1 one year term position, with the possibly of an extension. A pool may be created to staff similar positions of various tenures within the Western Region.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education
• Valid 5th class Power Engineer or certified Journeyman status in a mechanical or electrical trade.

Degree equivalency

Experience
• Experience in the operation, maintenance, and/or repair of HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning), plumbing, electrical, life safety systems and other building control systems in large buildings.

Operational Requirements
• Overtime and on-call requirement
• On-site inspections - Willing and able to work in and around construction sites, including wearing protective clothing
• Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions such as extreme cold or hot conditions
• Willingness to drive snow removal equipment and grass maintenance equipment.
• Ability to lift or move heavy objects up to 25 kg while practicing proper safety procedures.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license

• Willingness and ability to work in and around construction sites, including confined spaces, must wear protective clothing.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime and to accept an on-call 24/7 schedule
