EDUCATION

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, chemistry or some other science relevant to the position.

EXPERIENCE
- Experience coordinating and managing environmental projects in areas such as contaminated sites, environmental compliance and sustainable development.

KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of Canada’s federal legislative framework related to environmental management and assessment including but not limited to the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, the Fisheries Act, the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act and the Federal Sustainable Development Act.
- Knowledge of federal approaches to implementing environmental management and/or environmental programs including but not limited to the Federal Contaminated Sites Action Plan (FCSAP), an Environmental Management System (EMS) following the International Standards Organization 14001 (ISO 14001) requirements and the 2016-19 Federal Sustainable Development Strategy (FSDS).

ABILITIES
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing.
- Ability to provide analysis and recommendations on environmental management issues.

ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS
