Intent of the process

This process will be used to staff one indeterminate, full-time EG-05 position (English Essential). A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions on an indeterminate, term, deployment, assignment, secondment, acting, or casual basis.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Some essential and other qualifications will be assessed through your application. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:

• A secondary school diploma.

For Drafting and Surveying, the following is also required:

• Acceptable combination of training, education, and experience in fields related to the position such as: manual and computer assisted drafting and design; construction surveying; construction specification writing; construction estimating; National Building Code of Canada.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

• Extensive* experience that clearly demonstrates solid, verifiable work accomplishments in coordinating projects (estimating, planning, and implementation) related to the position.
• Significant** experience as an instructor.
• Experience in using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Power Point).
• Experience in using AutoCAD software.

*Extensive is defined as experience normally acquired over a minimum of five (5) years.
**Significant is defined as experience normally acquired over a minimum of two (2) years.

KNOWLEDGE:

• Knowledge of legislation/regulations regarding health, safety and accident prevention, and Canada Labour Code.

EDUCATION:

• Certification at the Canadian Forces DP3A or QL6A level in the construction engineer MOSIDs
• Advanced Military Instructor Course
• Diploma or certificate in Adult Education or Adult and Continuing Education
• Certificate/completion of vocational/college studies in a trade related to the position

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

• Instructional experience in a vocational setting or a Canadian Armed Forces training establishment.
