About the Service Manager’s Role:

The Service Manager position at Service Canada is a dynamic, exciting, challenging, and yet very rewarding position. It has a wide scope of operational, financial and human resources accountabilities and responsibilities. In some cases, the incumbent is the most Service Canada senior person in the community and plays significant role to ensure adequate and effective programs and services delivery. The service manager in the Citizen Services Branch is responsible for the direct in person service delivery to Canadians. The manager may be responsible for multiple Service Canada centres and scheduled points of service. The work environment is fast paced with multiple and sometime overlapping / time sensitive demands and priorities. One of the primary foci of the manager is to ensure uninterrupted services to Canadians within the service area and ensuring that there is appropriate human resources capacity to meet the service needs of the citizens in the area. This is rewarding work as one can see firsthand the impact and result of ones’ work. The Manager draws on a network of colleagues within the region to ensure effective service delivery and support to employees.
This position is located in Whitehorse, Yukon, an attractive and vibrant northern community.

Experience:

Recent and significant experience in leading or managing people or a project that includes assigning of work, evaluating performance and addressing performance issues.

Recent would normally be defined as having been gained within the last five (5) years. Significant would normally be defined as tasks having been performed consecutively for a 24 month period.
