Work environment

Created in November 2014, the Administrative Tribunals Support Service of Canada (ATSSC) is responsible for providing support services and facilities to 11 federal administrative tribunals by way of a single, integrated organization.

Our offices are located in the downtown Ottawa area.

We are a new organization looking for dynamic and enthusiastic persons open to new ideas.

Intent of the process

A fully or partially assessed pool may be created and may be used to staff similar positions at an identical or equivalent group and level with various bilingual linguistic requirements, tenures and security clearances within the Administrative Tribunals Support Service of Canada (ATSSC). All other federal organizations listed in Schedules I, IV and V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) may use this selection process to appoint a candidate to a similar position within their organization.

Information you must provide

Your résumé.

A covering letter in 3,000 words (maximum) "You must provide a cover letter in which you must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience criteria listed in the essential and asset qualifications (if applicable). You must use each criterion as a header and then, using clear and concrete examples, write one or two paragraphs explaining when, where and how you obtained each education and experience criterion. Describe the examples in specific terms, providing sufficient details so that the screening board can clearly understand the circumstances. Content of your response must be supported by your résumé. Lack of examples and details may result in your application being rejected. Your résumé will be used as a secondary source to validate the information described in the cover letter. Please note that point form or a “copy and paste” from your résumé are not sufficient. Failure to provide a complete application, consisting of both a cover letter and a résumé, may result in your application being rejected."

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. EDUCATION

ED : Secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

E1: Significant* experience in providing administrative support services (such as, but not limited to, word processing, reviewing and editing correspondence, preparing travel arrangements, filing, organizing meetings, conferences and seminars, coordinating budgeting and expenditures, applying financial controls, and managing calendars, agenda and mail) to a manager.

E2: Experience in drafting and editing documents such as memoranda, briefing notes or correspondence.

* “Significant experience” is defined as the depth and breadth of the experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of activities over a minimum period of approximately one (1) year
