Intent of the process

The intent is to staff this position via the Aboriginal Peoples Employment Program, which aims to strategically increase Aboriginal representation within the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch. As such, Organizational Needs may be applied and first consideration may be given to candidates self-identifying as belonging to Aboriginal peoples.

A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff identical or similar temporary positions, acting, assignments/secondments, or deployments in Saskatchewan.

Hours of work are 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Compressed schedules are not available within this work unit.

The term Aboriginal cultural competency includes knowledge of Aboriginal peoples and refers to the ability to work effectively with Aboriginal peoples from different cultural backgrounds, or in settings where several cultures co-exist. It includes the ability to communicate and understand the culture, and behaviours of other individuals and groups, and to make appropriate recommendations.
