Candidates must submit a cover letter which clearly demonstrates how they meet each of the essential education and experience qualifications. It is not sufficient to only state that the requirement is met or to provide a listing of current responsibilities, rather the candidate must provide concrete examples that illustrate how they meet the requirement. One suitable approach is to use each screening criteria as a heading, and provide a description outlining how that criteria is met. Failure to provide an appropriate cover letter could result in the application being eliminated from the selection process. Candidates will not be solicited for incomplete or possible missing information. Resumes will be used as a secondary source to validate the experience.

Asset qualifications could be used at the screening stage. Please ensure that your cover letter clearly indicates how you meet the asset experience qualifications where applicable. A person may be appointed even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications. However, it may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.

For this selection process, we will be communicating with candidates by email. Candidates who apply to selection processes should include an email address that accepts email from unknown users (some email systems block these types of email). It is the candidates’ responsibility to inform us of a change of contact information during the course of this selection process and to regularly verify your incoming emails.

LEAVE/ABSENCES DURING THIS SELECTION PROCESS: It is the responsibility of the candidate to notify the Human Resources Advisor of any pre-approved leave throughout the duration of the process in order to facilitate scheduling of evaluations. An alternate date will be possible if requested for the following reasons: 1) Medical reasons with doctor’s certificate; 2) Death in your immediate family; 3) Confirmation of pre-approved travel plans or training plans (made before the advertisement posting date); 4) Religious reasons.

Please note that in addition to all assessment methods such as the application, exam, interview, correspondence and communication in relation to this selection process may also be used to assess certain qualifications.
