DEFINITION:
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS are the qualifications required to perform the work. You must meet the below essential qualifications when applying to this position and provide concrete examples in the screening questions to be considered for this position.
Education
ED1: A secondary school diploma or Canadian provincial or territorial equivalency (e.g. General Education Diploma - GED);
ED2: Successful completion of a post secondary training program in avionics maintenance, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience
Occupational Certification:
OC1: Possession of a valid Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License, Category E
Experience:
EX1: Significant and recent experience as an E licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer maintaining, modifying and installing avionics equipment while exercising the associated ACA privileges.
*Significant and recent experience is defined as approximately three years relevant working experience within the last four years.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS are qualifications that are not essential to perform the work, but that, now or in the future, may benefit the organization and be an enhancement in terms of the work to be performed. Asset qualifications are desirable but are not necessarily required for the work to be performed. Asset Experience:
AEX1: Experience in maintaining Avionics & Electrical Systems.
AEX2: Experience in maintaining various aircraft communication, instrument, and autoflight systems.
AEX3: Experience in maintaining Avionics & Electrical systems on any of the following types of aircraft:

Knowledge :
K1: Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulation (CARs)
K2: Knowledge of aircraft and avionics systems
K3: Knowledge of acceptable methods, techniques and practices related to avionics installations and repairs
Abilities :
A1: Ability to interpret technical instructions and drawings
A2: Ability to communicate effectively orally
A3: Ability to communicate effectively in writing

Secret security clearance
-Possession of a valid driver’s license
-Possession of a valid Canadian Passport
-Available and willing to work shifts and overtime on short notice during the week or on weekends
-Willing and able to perform work in various positions on aircraft and in the hangar, which may involve standing, kneeling, lying and sitting as well as crawling into confined spaces and climbing elevated maintenance stands
-Successful completion of medical examinations as prescribed by Health Canada
-Willing and able to travel within North America or internationally and on-board aircraft during operational roles
-Willing to travel to various ASD and CCG bases to perform avionics related tasks
Candidates must meet and maintain the above conditions of employment throughout their employment.
