Intent of the process

This anticipatory selection process will be used to indeterminately or determinately staff the abovementioned position. A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates may be established from this anticipatory process and may be used to staff similar positions where tenure, language requirements and security requirements may vary according to the position to be staffed.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in environment, geology, chemistry or other science relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

Experience in the management or execution of programs related to the Environment or Health & Safety.

Experience in providing recommendation and counsel to Upper Management.

ASSET EDUCATION:

Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, in any science specialization or discipline relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

ASSET EXPERIENCE:

Experience in human resources and finance management.

Experience in production and/or management of Health & Safety management systems
or environmental management systems according to OSHAS 18001 or ISO 14001 standards.

KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of Knowledge of Federal laws and regulations applicable to the Environment.

Knowledge of general principles of management of environmental files (ex.: species at risk, hazmat, effluents, halocarbon, petroleum product storage tanks) or health & Safety files (ex.: accidents, return to work, protective personal equipment, machinery lock up).

Knowledge of ISO 14001 or OSHAS 18001 norm.

ABILITIES:

Ability to efficiently communicate verbally.

Ability to efficiently communicate in writing.

Ability to manage : analysing, solving problems, delegating, planning, organizing, managing programs.

Ability to manage a multidisciplinary team.

Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously.

Ability to provide counsel and recommendation to Upper Management.
