Intent of the process

A pool of partially qualified candidates will be established and may be used to fill similar vacancies of permanent or temporary tenures within Correctional Service Canada in the various locations.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or equivalent approved by the employer. The equivalent to the secondary school diploma approved by the employer is a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an equivalent to a secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
At least 18 months of recent experience in driving vehicles that requires a class 3 driver’s license in Quebec or the equivalent in the province or territory of residence.
Experience in handling.
Experience in operating and using a lifting platform.
Experience in using a standard computer.

PROFIENCY IN THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGES:
French essential
Bilingual imperative Level: BBB and/or --B

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Identification System (WHMIS)
Knowledge of occupational safety and health standards (Divisions I to V of art XIV ‘ Materials Handling’ of the Canadian Occupational Safety and Health Regulations).

ABILITIES
Ability to plan and organize one’s work.
Ability to effectively communicate in writing.
Ability to effectively communicate orally.
Ability to react to contingencies.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Training certificate for the transportation of dangerous goods.

Experience in storage.
Experience in shipping and receiving.
Experience in driving a lift truck
Experience working in a correctional environment.
