Duties

We are looking for a strong Compensation Advisor who wants to be part of the creation of a new HR team as of October 1st, 2017. Your duties will include:

• Conducting extensive and complex research and analysis on a variety of compensation subjects
• Determining employee entitlements, providing expert advice and resolution on entitlement issues
• Examining, analyzing and processing a wide variety of compensation and benefits transactions and maintaining the integrity of data in the compensation system
• Analyzing employment histories to identify and correct historical errors and/or implement decisions involving retroactivity
• Providing advice and input into initiatives that support the Agency’s plans and priorities

Work environment

FCAC is a Separate Agency that offers the same pension and benefits plans as the Core Federal Public Service. In addition, you will benefit from a minimum of four (4) weeks of vacation leave per year, earn a competitive salary, and be eligible for an annual performance pay. We have our own classification system (RE and REX).

Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Recent* and significant** experience in the provision of compensation and benefits services within the Federal Public Service.

Recent* and significant** experience in providing expert compensation and benefits advice to clients and processing pay transactions.

Recent* and significant** experience in investigating and resolving pay related issues arising from the pay system.

Recent* and significant** experience in using the Regional Pay System, Phoenix and MyGCHR.

*Recent is defined as experience acquired over the last three (3) years.
**Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of various complex related activities for a minimum of two (2) years.

Post-secondary school diploma.

Degree equivalency

Experience in providing direction to clients on processes and procedures.

Experience preparing a variety of documents, such as: presentations, reports, briefing notes, etc.
