A pool of qualified candidates will be created following this process and may be used to staff Indeterminate, Specified period, Acting, Assignment, Secondment and Casual positions in the Prairie and Pacific Region.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma (GED acceptable) or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
Significant* and recent** experience working in textiles (sewing) within a production operation.
Significant* and recent** experience in inventory control, tool control, or quality control.
Recent** experience in supervising or training individuals.
Experience in the use of various software programs such as: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
*Significant experience refers to the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of duties on a regular and continuous basis for approximately 6 months.
**Recent experience is within approximately the past 3 years.
English essential

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of CORCAN’s mandate and business lines.
Knowledge of textile (garment) fabrication.
Knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures.

EDUCATION
Possession of a Provincial Instructor’s Diploma.
Any course or formal training in textiles and sewing, garment construction, pattern drafting, or fabric sciences.
EXPERIENCE
Experience working in a correctional environment (institutional or community).
Experience working in an aboriginal-focused correctional environment.
Experience working in a high security level institution with a varied offender population.
Experience in supervising or training individuals with *multiple barriers.
*Multiple barriers refer to individuals with barriers who would require additional assistance in learning and mastering assigned tasks: such as language, disability, mental health issues, drug addictions, and those in conflict with the law
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of International Standards Organization Quality Systems (ISO)

Overtime as may be required.
