The position to be staffed currently is for a 12 month term.
A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used for similar indeterminate, specified period employment, acting appointments, assignments, secondments or deployments.

Education:
Successful completion of secondary school education according to provincial standards.
Candidates invited to an interview will be required to bring proof of their education credentials, in the form of a diploma or official transcript (original documents only).
Experience in providing a range of occupational health and safety support services to management, employees and committees. OR Experience working in a laboratory in which hazardous materials were used.
Experience using common word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail software (i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook).
Experience in preparing reports for internal or external use.

Education :
Successful completion of an Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
Degree or Diploma from a recognized University or College program in Occupational Health and Safety or an acceptable combination of experience and education.
Experience:
Experience in preparing reports for both internal and external use.
Experience as a workplace health and safety committee member or representative.
Experience in delivering safety training.
Experience in accident investigation.
Experience in conducting Job Safety Analyses (Job Hazard Analyses).
Experience reading accommodation floor plans.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of ergonomic principles.
Knowledge of chemical safety practices.
Knowledge of safe laboratory practices.
Knowledge of the Provincial Workers Compensation Board reporting procedures.

Valid drivers' license OR personal mobility in the time and manner normally associated with possession and use of a valid driver's license.
Ability and willingness to be exposed to grain and flour dust / soil, and to outdoor conditions in an industrial environment. Known allergies must be controlled through the use of personal protective equipment and/or medication, and must not impinge upon the duties to be performed.
Ability and willingness to be exposed to hazardous microorganisms, chemicals and equipment.
Adherence to CGC and Industry safety standards and procedures.
Note: A cover letter will not be required as the screening questions will be used for screening purposes.

Candidates from outside the federal public service may be required to pay for their own travel.
