Your résumé.
You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in public policy, public or business administration, economics, political science, commerce or in a field related to the duties of the position.
• Experience in managing human and financial resources.
• Experience in developing networks of contacts at senior levels to consult, promote programs, and negotiate agreements, with emphasis on economic development opportunities.
• Experience in providing strategic advice, making recommendations, writing and presenting briefing material (eg. TB Submissions, Ministerial Correspondence) to senior executives on complex issues.
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)
Information on language requirements
• Knowledge of the trends and issues relating to Western Canadian economic developments.
• Knowledge of the opportunities for and barriers to economic development in Manitoba.
• Knowledge of key Government of Canada priorities related to regional development agencies (such as: Innovation, Trade and Investment, Indigenous Economic Growth, Defence Procurement), and how WD contributes to these priorities.

• Master’s degree in a field related to the duties.
• Experience with cluster based and inclusive economic development strategy and implementation.
• Experience in designing, managing and evaluating regionally focused grants and contributions programs with a focus on economic development.
• Experience in the governance and decision making process within the Public Service.
• Secret Security Clearance.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently.
• Willingness and ability to work additional hours as required.
