How to apply via Public Service Resourcing System (PSRS):

Persons interested must submit, by the closing date, a complete application consisting of a covering letter AND a résumé supporting the information provided in the cover letter. Candidates must clearly demonstrate IN THEIR COVER LETTER how they meet the Essential Education and Essential Experience criteria as well as assets if applicable. The education and experience factors that appear on the Statement of Merit as headings in your cover letter. Under each heading you must write no more than two paragraphs that state exactly how you meet the education and experience factors. You must state clearly where and when you obtained the education and experiences, including the educational institution, and by identifying the employer(s) or organization(s) where you obtained the required experience factors, as well as concrete examples demonstrating your experiences. Failure to follow these instructions may result in your application being rejected.

Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates will be established from this process to staff identical or similar positions within Statistics Canada. These positions may be staffed with various tenures, with various language requirements (Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB and English essential ) as well as various security requirements. Upon appointment or deployment in the Statistics Canada PE Recruitment and Development Program (PE RDP), qualified candidates from this process will be subject to the program requirements. The PE RDP allows successful indeterminate participants to progressively move from the PE-01 to the PE-02 group and level and then to the PE-03.

EDUCATION

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in human resources management, labour or industrial relations, psychology, public or business administration, organizational development, education sciences, social sciences, sociology, or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed.

*Students must obtain their degree by the end of February 2018 in order to be considered in the process.

Other information

The immediate need is a position in Edmonton (Alberta). In order to be appointed to a position, you need to meet all essential qualifications, including the education. We will proceed with the assessment of the education criteria for those interested in a position in Edmonton first, and therefore only those who meet the education criteria at the time of appointment could be considered. Nevertheless, you could later be considered for other positions once you obtain your diploma, if applicable.
