The IT system Analyst will work within one of the operational teams of the Information Management and Technology Directorate: either in Business Applications, Desktop Management or Service Desk. The function is challenging and versatile, playing a key role with business transformation and enabling a modern workplace.
The position is expected to grow, with opportunities for training and professional development. The individual(s) selected will be encouraged to demonstrate creativity and technical savvy in the delivery of numerous projects and initiatives.
The IM/IT division provides the Department of Finance with modern, mobile and collaborative tools and services to allow the Department to focus its strategies on developing policies and providing advice to the Government with the goal of creating a healthy economy for Canadians.
The IM/IT division supports and operates an effective IT environment, constantly improving and evolving tools and solutions to support business functions. The department also works in close collaboration with Shared Services Canada to realize its IT functions.
A pool of qualified candidates will be established to staff similar positions in the Department of Finance.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor degree in computer science, engineering or science and two (2) years of professional experience
Or
Diploma in Information Technology or in a related field and five (5) years of professional IT experience
EXPERIENCE:
Candidates must possess the minimum years of experience required in accordance with their education as previously outlined. In addition, please note that the experience must be significant* in nature.
Experience in designing, implementing, configuring or supporting any one (1) or more of the following:
(i) Windows desktops and desktop applications in a Corporate environment
(ii) Web-based applications, including Internal or External Web applications
(iii) Management tools for desktop infrastructure or server infrastructure
(iv) Client/Server applications
*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience that would normally be acquired by a person in a position where the performance of these duties constitutes his or her main functions over that period of time.
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of Microsoft PowerShell
Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and NTFS permissions
Knowledge of application packaging and distribution in a Windows environment
Knowledge of standard configuration elements of Microsoft Windows server
