We are looking for administrative professionals for positions in the following fields:
- Staffing: As a member of our Staffing team you will work closely with an HR Advisor and your colleagues to deliver quality HR support services to clients. We are looking for Coordinators who enjoy teamwork, have a keen eye for detail and have a soft spot for efficiency. If you're the type of person who thrives on organization with a 'how can we make this better' attitude - we want you on our team!
- Express Staffing: As a member of the Express Staffing team you will be working closely with other HR Coordinators to deliver on a high volume of requests. We are looking for Coordinators with strong analytical skills, who are comfortable working with systems and who have a keen eye for detail. If you're the type of person who thrives in a high volume environment with a 'bring it on' attitude - HR Express definitely wants to meet you!
- Classification: As a member of our Classification Administrative Centre you will be working with a close knit team of fellow HR Coordinators and the Supervisor to ensure that clients are able to update their positions quickly and easily. We're looking for Coordinators who have strong organizational skills and who are comfortable with systems. If you're the type of person who likes thinking things through with a 'can I help?' attitude - the Classification team would be happy to welcome you.
LOCATIONS
ISED is located at the CD Howe Building, situated at 235 Queen Street, an office complex in downtown Ottawa, close to Parliament Hill, the Rideau Canal and the Rideau Shopping Centre. This location offers close access to restaurants, fitness facilities, walking/running paths and parks. We are conveniently located close to major bus routes so it is easy to commute from all points across the National Capital Region.
The Canadian Intellectual Property Office and Competition Bureau offices are located in the Portage complexes at Portage I, at 50 Victoria street in Gatineau. We are close to the Canadian Museum of History, walking and jogging trails, and parks such as Parc Jacques-Cartier. In addition, we have a transit system that provides multiple stops and connecting points to all residents of the National Capital Region. As such, it will be easy for you to travel to the office whether you are from the Ottawa or Gatineau area. You can also enjoy restaurants, fitness centers and the Place du Centre shopping centre.
The current need is to staff one term position. We expect to use this process to staff other positions in the coming months.
A pool of partially qualified candidates will be created to staff positions with various tenures (indeterminate, deployment, acting, specified period, assignment, secondment) and various security levels.
This process could be used to staff other types of positions (CR-05, AS-01 and PM-01) within ISED.

A secondary school diploma.
Extensive* experience in delivering services to clients.
Experience in planning OR organizing activities** involving many people.
Experience using word processing, spreadsheet and email software (i.e. MS, Word, Excel and Outlook)

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in human resources management, labour or industrial relations, psychology, public or business administration, organizational development, education sciences, social sciences, sociology, or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed.
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in a field relevant to the work to be performed.
Experience using a Human Resources Management System (i.e. MyGCHR, PIMS, PSRS, Peoplesoft, HRIS, HRMS, etc.)
Experience providing Human Resources support services in Staffing
Experience providing Human Resources support services in Classification
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)

*Your ongoing communication and interactions throughout the staffing process will be used to assess judgement. Other assessment methods will also be used.
Reliability Status security clearance - This factor is not used at the screening stage. The department is responsible for the security clearance process.
Applicants must complete the Public Service Entrance Exam: Test of Judgement Unsupervised Internet Test as part of the screening for this selection process. This test assesses the judgement required for solving problems in work-related situations. You will have 75 minutes to complete the test. You must complete the test before you submit your application for this position.
